Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Aliveness WhatsApp companion service, operated by Aliveness Ventures and available at www.aliveness.ai. By messaging the Aliveness WhatsApp number, you agree to these Terms.
What Aliveness Is
Aliveness is a conversational AI companion delivered via WhatsApp. It helps you build a living identity portrait from your own reflections and peer input, and generates personalized relational practice experiments — concrete things to try in your relationships and daily life.
Aliveness is a personal growth tool, not a mental health service, therapy, or medical product. It does not provide clinical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Messaging Consent
By texting the Aliveness WhatsApp number, you consent to receive automated and human-assisted messages from Aliveness Ventures, including identity synthesis updates, experiment reminders, and peer reflection notifications. Message frequency varies — typically a few messages per week depending on your experiment schedule. Standard carrier message and data rates may apply.
- Text STOP at any time to opt out of all messages.
- Text START to resume after opting out.
- Text HELP for assistance or email hello@updates.aliveness.ventures.
Opting out will stop all outbound messages from us. Your data is retained per our Privacy Policy unless you also request deletion.
Acceptable Use
You agree to use Aliveness only for lawful personal purposes. You may not:
- Submit content that is abusive, harassing, threatening, or illegal.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or abuse the service.
- Impersonate another person when submitting peer reflections.
- Use the service in ways that could harm other users or third parties.
Your Content
You retain ownership of the narratives and reflections you share with us. By submitting them, you grant Aliveness Ventures a limited license to process and store that content for the purpose of delivering the service to you. We do not use your content to train foundational AI models or share it with other users in identifiable form.
Peer reflections submitted on your behalf by others are processed anonymously — the identity of the peer is not disclosed to you.
No Guarantees
Aliveness provides AI-generated content that is intended to be useful, but we make no guarantees about its accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular purpose. Relational growth is personal and non-linear — the service is a tool, not a promise.
The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Aliveness Ventures shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Changes to the Service
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time. We may also update these Terms — when we do, we'll update the effective date above. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles.
