Terms of service.

Effective October 24, 2026. This replaces the terms dated October 8, 2026.

These terms cover Aliveness OS, the practice at aliveness.ai, next-day reminders, the Aliveness app at app.aliveness.ai and the WhatsApp companion. Aliveness is operated by Aliveness Ventures. By using any of them, you agree to these terms.

What Aliveness is

Aliveness is a practice: feel, move or sound, listen, then make. It is being relaunched as a practice you do in your browser and with a Circle. The earlier service, an app and a WhatsApp companion that build a portrait from your reflections and suggest experiments, keeps running for current members until the relaunch replaces it.

Aliveness is a practice, not therapy. It is not a mental health service or a medical product, and it does not give clinical advice, diagnosis or treatment. If something heavy comes up, please reach out to a qualified professional.

Reminders

If you ask for a next-day reminder, we send one email the following morning with the line you wrote and a link to begin again. We send nothing else from that request.

WhatsApp messages

By messaging the Aliveness WhatsApp number, you agree to receive automated and human-assisted messages from Aliveness Ventures: portrait updates, experiment reminders and notes when someone has reflected on you. Frequency depends on your experiments, usually a few messages a week. Standard message and data rates may apply.

• Text STOP at any time to stop all messages.
• Text START to resume.
• Text HELP for help, or write to hello@aliveness.ventures.

Stopping messages doesn’t delete your data. Our privacy policy says what we keep and how to ask us to delete it.

Using Aliveness well

Use Aliveness only for lawful, personal purposes. Please don’t:

• send content that is abusive, harassing, threatening or illegal,
• try to reverse-engineer, scrape or overload the service,
• pretend to be someone else, including when you reflect on another person,
• use the service in ways that could harm other people.

Your words and your threads

What you write, and the threads your practice makes, stay yours. You give Aliveness Ventures a limited licence to process and store them only to provide the service to you. We do not use them to train AI models, and we don’t sell or share them outside the service.

In the earlier service, the people in a Circle you join can read your portrait and what you share there. Whoever reflects on you chooses whether to put their name to it. What they write becomes part of your portrait, which is read by you and by the people in any Circle you practise in, and by nobody else.

Safeguards in Aliveness OS

Aliveness OS runs Circles and Expeditions for communities and organizations, including The Current. Everything that runs on it keeps these commitments:

• No streaks, scores, rankings or leaderboards.
• What you share is never used to evaluate, select or rank you.
• No AI interprets your reflections or rewrites your words.
• Your practice belongs to you. You can ask us to export it or delete it at any time.
• Nothing leaves your Circle without your yes.
• Facilitators are trained for hard moments, with a path to more help.
• Reports to an organization that runs an Expedition are aggregated, and include only what members agreed to share.

The earlier service described above, with its AI-written portrait, is not part of Aliveness OS. It works as described on this page until it is retired.

No guarantees

The earlier service writes some of what you see with AI. We try to make it useful, but we can’t guarantee it is accurate, complete or right for any particular purpose.

The service is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Aliveness Ventures is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, even if we were told they were possible. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it.

Changes

We may change, pause or end the service. When these terms change, we update the date at the top. Using the service after a change means you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
